Wabash National shuffles executives; Ehrlich resigns from board

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (April 29, 2002) — Trailer maker Wabash National Corp. named William Greubel president and chief executive officer effective May 6, replacing acting president and CEO Richard Dessimoz.

Greubel was formerly president and CEO of Accuride Corp.

This announcement came shortly after former president and CEO Donald “Jerry” Ehrlich resigned from the company’s board of directors.

Wabash made 35,000 trailers in 2001, down nearly 50% from the 69,772 it produced the year before.

“The company has concluded a year in which it faced many obstacles stemming from a very difficult economic climate in the trailer industry, and has taken the steps necessary to deal with the internal and external factors that have negatively affected its financial results and liquidity position,” Greubel said.

Wabash designs, manufactures. and markets standard and customized truck trailers under the Wabash and Fruehauf brands.
