TTSAO announces a ‘Touch a Truck’ hiring event for adults

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – The Truck Training Schools Association of Ontario (TTSAO) is trying to drive more people into the industry by hosting a “touch a truck” event for adults. The group announced the event and sought marketing ideas for it during the carrier group townhall meeting at their annual conference. The event – to be held in Mississauga, Ont. On May 26 – will be a hiring event focused on bringing in employees to all areas of the industry, not just drivers.

WINNIPEG, MB - The Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) honored its best and brightest this weekend with its Fall Gala Awards Dinner. Surrounded by food, fun, and good company, the MTA recognized not one, but two members who have spent their lives in service to the trucking industry by changing the name of the Service to Industry award to the Red Coleman Service to Industry Award. Going forward the award will be sponsored by the Coleman family and bare the name of the senior Coleman who has been in trucking nearly 70 years.

Recruitment the focus of Women with Drive summit

TORONTO, ON - Recruitment and retention will be the topic of discussion at Trucking HR Canada's fourth annual Women with Drive summit being held March 1, 2018 in Toronto. The panel discussion will focus on company branding on multiple platforms and how that can influence or help companies attract employees. Called "Outside in" the panel will feature experts from the social media platform Linkedin, and the employment website Workopolis. The panel will talk about attracting women and other under-represented groups to the trucking industry.
