Ox Bodies announces new president
FAYETTE, AL - Henry Bell has been named as the new general manager and president of Ox Bodies. Owned by Truck Bodies and Equipment International, the designer, manufacturer, and installer of medium- and heavy-duty truck bodies, saw its former general manager Ray Salley, retire in August.
CTA announces infrastructure wish list
TORONTO, ON - The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) released its trade infrastructure priority list today, providing it to Canadian Transport Minister Marc Garneau. The CTA says the list comes after consultations with its provincial associations to gather input on building stronger, more efficient trade corridors. The CTA created the list after Garneau announced more than $2 billion for the Trade and Transportation Corridors Initiative (TTCI), in early July. The fund is designed to strengthen Canada's trade infrastructure, including ports, waterways, airports, roads, bridges, border crossings, rail networks and the interconnectivity between them. The CTA's wish list meets the criteria of the program, and is being used to lobby for funds for these projects. CTA president Stephen Laskowski, says the list isn't exhaustive, but covers both specific projects, and general areas for consideration.
FedEx Canada joins the Amber Alert program
TORONTO, ON - FedEx Express Canada will add nearly 3,000 pairs of eyes looking for missing children. The Canadian courier announced this week that it is partnering with the Ontario Amber Alert program, and will rebroadcast amber alerts to its 6,500 Canadian employees, including nearly 3,000 couriers, so they can aid in finding missing children. President Lisa Lisson says with the increase in e-commerce, the courier company is in more places around the country, making them good candidates for helping to locate missing children when needed. "As loving parents and proud Canadians, our employees want to be of service to the community and help keep our children safe from harm," says Lisson.
PACCAR Parts opens 100th store
ALEXANDRIA, LA - PACCAR Parts has opened the doors to a TRP Store before - 99 times to be exact. The company announced the opening of its 100th store this week, offering aftermarket replacement parts for all makes and models of trucks, trailers, and buses. The new store is owned by Kenworth of Louisiana, and will feature extended hours to serve both local customers and those just passing through. David Danforth, general manager at PACCAR Parts and PACCAR vice president, said the company is proud to celebrate the milestone store opening.
