ArvinMeritor expands Mexican wing

MONTERREY, Mex. — ArvinMeritor announced the opening of its doors today to a new aftermarket parts distribution centre in Cienega de Flores, a suburb in Monterrey, Mexico.

The centre is adjacent to the manufacturing facility that is home to ArvinMeritor’s commercial vehicle business operations in Mexico.

The integrated truck systems, modules and components supplier has been operating in Monterrey for over 35 years with its brake, axel and driveline partnership with Grupo Quimmco, and has a 400,000 square foot commercial axle manufacturing plant in the city since 2008.

"We are proud of our role in Monterrey’s economic development and appreciate the support we’ve received from the community," said Mario Velasco, general market manager, Aftermarket, Mexico.

The company services more than 300 dealer and independent parts distributors in Mexico and Latin America. The company is using the centre as a blueprint to create a more standard approach to parts-handling.

"This operation is the next step in our strategy to standardize parts-handling systems and processes across our global aftermarket organization," says Craig Cartmill, global operations director.
