Bridgestone shuffles corporate deck

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — As part of a restructuring of Bridgestone’s Americas tire operations, Bridgestone has made a series of executive appointment changes.

Effective Jan. 1, 2009, Asahiko "Duke" Nishiyama will lead the new unit, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO), formerly Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS).

Reporting into this unit will be the company’s Latin American tire operations, and the U.S. and Canadian consumer and commercial tire businesses.

Paul A. Solomon, currently president of BBTS will serve as president, U.S. & Canada Commercial Tire Sales division. Reporting to Solomon will be Kenneth L. Allen, President, Agricultural Tire; Shawn Rasey, president, Off the Road Tire; and Scott Gateley, GM, Tube Business.

The company also announced two promotions: Doyle Bradford, director of strategic channels, will be promoted to vice president, sales, effective immediately. Tim Chen, vice president, innovation, will become vice president, marketing, effective Nov. 1.
