Carlisle acquires off-highway brake biz of ArvinMeritor

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Carlisle Motion Control Industries, a subsidiary of Carlisle Companies, says it’s strengthened its off-highway braking market with the acquisition of the assets of ArvinMeritor’s off-highway business located in York, S.C. and Cwmbran, South Wales, U.K.

Carlisle Industrial Brake and Friction manufactures brake systems for heavy-duty mining, construction, industrial, and agricultural equipment.

“Carlisle will provide an even broader line of products and enhanced technical support to our key customer base as a result of this acquisition,” noted Doug DeVallance, general manager.

The company has been developing innovative and reliable braking solutions for over 50 years. It offers a wide range of on and off-highway brake products that extend from the foot pedal through the brake and friction material.

Carlisle brake system products include hydraulic disc brakes for service and park brake applications, mechanical park brakes, full circle brakes, motor brakes, hydraulic brake valves, and hydraulic/electric trailer brake actuators. The company produces friction products for such varied applications as on- and off-highway vehicles, industrial equipment, lawn and garden equipment, and consumer appliances.
