INTERNATIONAL’S TRACKING SYSTEM
Here’s a security device for trucks that might actually improve productivity at the same time as it tightens the reins on your iron. International Truck and Engine’s new ‘International Aware Vehicle Intelligence’ tracks, records and sometimes even controls your trucks’ performance, plus it keeps the thieves at bay.
This marks the first time a truck OEM is outfitting its medium- and heavy-duty rigs with proprietary electronic theft-deterrent and integrated tracking systems.
The new system includes, among other features, code-access engine disablers that shut the engine down if the driver can’t punch in the right access number; programmable lane monitors that send messages back to dispatch if the truck goes off a prescribed route; and a whole array of telematics. You can monitor vehicle performance, diagnose maintenance issues, and ensure driver and vehicle safety and security. International says this new technology is applicable to nearly all vocations and fleets of almost any size.
