Mack tightens ASET oil standards

Mack Trucks
Mack issued a more stringent oil specification for its ASET engines, calling for better soot-thickening control, oil shear stability, extended drain capability, and low-temperature “pumpability” of heavily sooted oils. The standard is called Mack EO-N Premium Plus 03.

Among the oils that comply: Shellís ROTELLA T Multigrade 15W-40, Pennzoil Long-Life 15W-40, Chevron Delo 400 Multigrade SAE 15W-40, Chevron RPM Heavy Duty Motor Oil SAE 15W-40, Texaco Ursa Premium TDX SAE 15W-40, and Texaco Ursa Super Plus SAE 15W-40 oils. Mack says oils that meet the new specification should perform well in cooled and internal EGR Mack engines, as well as earlier Mack engines without EGR.
