Mack to offer Meritor SteelLite X30 drums

ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Systems business announced that Mack Trucks will offer the Meritor SteelLite X30 lightweight brake drum on its CH, CX, CL, RB and RD600 series models, effective immediately. The agreement is part of a growing co-operative arrangement between the two companies, ArvinMeritor said.
The drums have a one-piece design with no weld seam, providing extra strength and durability. The X30 brake drum is lighter than standard full-cast drums and is available on axles ranging from 34,000 pounds GAWR (gross axle weight rating) to 46,000 GAWR.
These truck models are used by truck operators in logging, dumping, mixers, refuse transfer, coal hauling, utility jobs and stop-and-go hauls.
The data code for the X30 brake drums for the CH, CX, CL, RB and RD600 series models for front axles is 248 2000/247 2202 and single rear axles and tandem rear axles is 264 2000/263 2202.
