Peterbilt unveils new 330 options

Peterbilt
New options for Peterbilt’s medium-duty model 330, including a new line of automatic transmissions, are now available, the company announced at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

The options are as follows;
Allison 2000/2400 Series Transmissions: The five-speed, automatic transmissions, featuring two-pedal operation, are now available. The Allison 2000 is available with GVW ratings up to 30,000 pounds and the 2400 in available with ratings up to 26,000 pounds. Both feature maximum input torque of 525 net ponds-feet. Both also feature a tower-mounted shifter and are available with converter-driven PTO provisions that have PTO pads located on the right and left sides of the transmission.

Reyco Heavy Duty Auxiliary Helper Spring: Rated at 4500 pounds, the spring is interchangeable with the 3000-pound rated spring, and is compatible with all 330 rear axles rated at 21,000, 23,000, and 26,000 pounds. The company says the spring is ideal for vehicles which need additional rear support.

Bosch Axle Mounted Parking Brake: Model 330s spec’d with optional hydraulic brakes, available for class 6 configurations, now come standard with this brake, which replaces the transmission-mounted version and provides braking capacity for chassis rated at 26,000 pounds GVW and below.

The model 330 also features a lightweight all-aluminum, corrosion-resistant cab with one-piece aluminum roof. The sloped hood, which opens a full 90 degrees, provides excellent visibility from the cab, the company says.
