MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada is inviting fleets, both private and for-hire, to enter their most stunningly decorated trucks in the 2006 PMTC & 3M Vehicle Graphics Design Awards competition.

Co-sponsored by 3M Canada’s Commercial Graphics Division, the awards recognize fleet operators and graphic design companies who graphically enhance their vehicles. The competition is open to all Canadian fleet operators. Awards are presented in six categories: Tractor Trailer Combination; Straight Truck; Special Events/Promotion; Night-Time Safety, Light Duty Commercial Truck and Identity Fleet Graphics. Meanwhile the PMTC is also looking for entries to the Cancom Hall of Fame for Professional Drivers and the Zurich Private Fleet Safety Award.

Sponsored by Cancom Tracking, the Driver Hall of Fame was established to recognize superior over the road performance of drivers employed by members of the PMTC.

The Private Fleet Safety Awards program was created by Zurich and the PMTC to encourage improved road safety for the general public and promote best practices in private fleet safety management. The awards recognize the private truck fleets most committed to safety improvement, especially where they exceed National Safety Code requirements. This year’s competition is open to all Canadian private truck fleets. PMTC membership is not a requirement.

Entry deadline for all competitions is May 1st, 2006.
