Rigmaster set for smooth transition to ULSD

TORONTO, Ont. — The emergence of new ultra low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) on the market will not affect the performance of RigMaster APUs. All current RigMaster models built with either Perkins 402.05 Series Engine or the Caterpillar C0.5 engine are capable of running on ULSD.

“Customers driving the new 2007 trucks may not be able to purchase the other APU’s that are on the market today unless they want to set up a separate fuel tank for their APU,” stated Gary Lisson, Rigmaster general manager. “Whereas with RigMaster’s non-intrusive design; a RigMaster installed on a current or older truck can easily be removed & installed on a new ULSD truck without any worries. I feel confident knowing that the product that we put out almost 2 years ago will still be viable in the years to come.”

The RigMaster Power APU is a fully independent system that provides heat, A/C, battery charging and 120V power for the driver and burns 80% less fuel than an idling truck. Market reports anticipate that ULSD will burn 1% more per gallon than the diesel on the market today with cost estimates at anywhere from five to13 cents more per gallon, says the manufacturer.

“That’s just one more reason to look into a fuel saving device such as the RigMaster Power APU,” remarks Lisson. “A higher priced fuel with a lower fuel economy means fleets and drivers alike will be looking even harder for a way to save money.”
