Shell Rotella synthetic for cold climes
Shell Rotella’s new T6 Full Synthetic 0W-40 is now licensed as an API CK-4 oil, meeting the needs of on- and off-road vehicles.
The formula promises protection against wear, deposits and oil breakdown, and offers excellent pumpability in cold climes when compared to a conventional SAE 15W-40.
Multi-functional dispersant additives combine with synthetic base oils to protect against the effects of soot, dirt and other contaminants, while the oil also effectively resists heat, Shell says.
Low-ash levels help to protect aftertreatment devices, too.
Specifications and approvals for the oil include: API CK-4, CJ-4, Caterpillar ECF-3, ECF-2, ECF-1A, Cummins CES 20086, Ford WSS-M2C171-F1, Mack EO-S 4.5, and Volvo VDS-4.5, VDS-4.
