$100 million in orders boosts confidence at Wabash National

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Feb. 12, 2002) — Wabash National Corp., the largest trailer manufacturer in North America and perhaps the hardest hit by a sluggish market in 2001, announced that it recently received orders exceeding $100 million US.

The statement does not name who placed the orders, nor does it detail the number or types of trailers involved.

However, acting chief executive officer Richard Dessimoz expressed confidence that 2002 orders will exceed the dismal market of 2001. “While we do not anticipate industry fundamentals to dramatically improve in the short term, a number of our key customers have performed relatively well during these difficult economic times, which appears to be driving their demand for new trailers,” he said.

Wabash National designs, manufactures, and markets standard and customized semi-trailers under the Wabash and Fruehauf brands.
