A Transponder for Everyone

by Doin' it His Way

Truck windshields may not fill up with transponders after all. Mark IV IVHS of Mississauga, Ont., has introduced a working prototype of “Ubiquity,” a transponder designed to work with most toll collection services in North America. In fact, Ubiquity will be accepted at more than 80% of toll facilities in Canada and the United States, including more than 500 locations in Ontario, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachusetts, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia South Carolina, Illinois, Colorado, California, New Hampshire, and Maine. Furthermore, Ubiquity is technically capable of working with truck pre-clearance and weigh-in-motion networks like PrePass and Oregon’s GreenLight.
