Accuride announces European distribution deal

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Sept. 4, 2000) — Accuride Corp. announced a distribution agreement with one of Europe’s largest makers of steel wheels for heavy trucks, Gianetti Route S.p.A. The two companies will also exchange wheel-manufacturing technology.

Accuride, North America’s leading maker of both steel and aluminum wheels, said the strategic alliance will give it a much-needed European base to serve customers’ increasing demands for a global supply source.

“One of the many benefits our customers will experience from this alliance is local sourcing via multiple production locations throughout Europe and North America,” explained Larry Taylor, Accuride’s vice-president of sales and marketing. “Also, by being the world’s only supplier of both medium/heavy aluminum and medium/heavy steel wheels, the combined Accuride/Gianetti product line will be among the most complete in the world.”
