Accuride Canada workers ratify labor deal

LONDON, Ont. (Dec. 20, 1999) — Workers at Accuride Canada’s wheel manufacturing plant in London, Ont., voted to ratify a three-year labor contract.

The old contract was due to expire March 13, 2000. Along with an early signing bonus, the new agreement offers employees benefit and wage improvements.

The employees are represented by the Canadian Auto Workers Local 27.

“Over the past year, our plant and union leadership have worked hard at establishing a shared business vision and cooperative working relationship. The fact that we were able to reach an early agreement signifies our progress towards these goals,” said Stewart Doggett, Accuride’s director of operations for its London Facility.

“I have every expectation that we will be equally successful in resolving any future issues still before us, as attaining world-class performance is key to our mutual success.”
