AirIQ Rolls Out Wireless Dispatch Service

AirIQ unveiled a new dispatch service for truck fleets, complementing its wireless vehicle management service.

The dispatch program allows real-time communications between dispatchers and drivers using a web-enabled wireless handset, such as PDA’s, PCS and cellular telephones, two-way pagers, etc. Dispatchers and order-takers can forward jobs to the driver’s handset, while the driver can access details of the delivery and/or pick-up from their wireless device.

The driver can, among other actions, immediately accept the delivery or pick-up and provide an ETA in real time. All driver actions are recorded and time-stamped by the AirIQ system and the history is readily viewable by the dispatcher.

AirIQ says fleet owners and managers can leverage the power of their back office dispatch software system by integrating with AirIQ’s wireless two-way data communications.

Information received or forwarded from the driver, tractor, or trailer can be exchanged with back office dispatch software systems. AirIQ is based in Pickering, Ont.
