Alberta truck inspector named best in North America

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. (Sept. 28, 2004) — Medicine Hat’s Troy Hasil was named winner of the Grand Champion Award at the North American Inspectors Championship (NAIC) in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The transport officer took top honours, named top commercial vehicle inspector in the continent, after his performance in a number of competition areas. The event is sponsored by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance.

Alberta Transportation Minister Ed Stelmach praised Hasil for setting a benchmark for public safety.

“Commercial vehicles are on our roadways at every hour of every day, feeding an economy that relies heavily on transporting goods for export,” Stelmach said. “Dedicated inspectors like Troy help ensure those vehicles are safe.”
