APPS keeps rolling west
BRAMPTON, Ont.– Less than two months ago, the Ontario-based intermodal operator APPS Transport Group announced that it had taken over the terminal operations of Western Reload, an intermodal outfit out of Calgary.
This week, APPS has gone one further and taken Richmond, B.C.’s Legacy Transport Logistics into the corporate fold.
“This move is part of APPS Transport’s strategic expansion across Canada,” says Rob McDonald, president of the privately owned APPS Transport Group.
“From this terminal, we will have our own fleet and staff servicing Vancouver and throughout British Columbia, allowing us to continue to strengthen our service to our customers.”
APPS has been partnering with Legacy for years. This latest move means that Legacy’s 70,000-sq-ft terminal will become part of APPS’ operations.
The Richmond terminal will act as a multi-use facility providing trans-load services for import shipments, warehousing for new and existing customers as well as servicing APPS’ burgeoning Western Canada LTL business.
“This terminal operation will become a critical component of our ability to deliver on the service promises we make. It will also allow us to continue
to innovate our transportation services for our clients while handling an ever-increasing volume of intermodal shipments.”
APPS Transport Group provides supply chain and transportation services to leading corporations and brands across North America. APPS now maintains terminal operations in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.
