ArvinMeritor names former Federal-Mogul boss its new chief exec
TROY, Mich. (July 22, 2004) — ArvinMeritor has named Charles “Chip” McClure chairman, chief executive and president after he resigned as Federal-Mogul Corp.’s chief executive after a year.
ArvinMeritor — a component supplier for the motor vehicle industry — said McClure will succeed Larry Yost, who is retiring from the company. The position is effective Aug. 9, 2004.
McClure, 50, joined Federal-Mogul in January 2001 as president, COO and board member. He became chief executive in July 2003. Prior to that he served as president and chief executive for Detroit Diesel Corp.
Federal-Mogul has appointed Robert S. Miller Jr., 62, as interim chief executive, pending the appointment of a new chief executive.
