Attention Alberta truckers: You Have One Month Left for Green Rebates
EDMONTON — The deadline for Alberta truckers seeking provincial rebates for making their trucks greener is a month away.
The program, called Trucks of Tomorrow, is supposed to encourage commercial trucks to improve fuel efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, saving money in the process.
To qualify for a rebate, participants must install their fuel-efficiency and/or aero equipment and submit their claims on or before Dec. 31, 2011.
Owner/operators and fleet managers can all participate.
The maximum rebate available per company has been increased from $30,000 to $60,000, retroactive to the program’s start date of June 1, 2010.
The program has already paid out more than $600,000 in rebates to fleets and owner-operators.
