BC adds summer sailings; amends fuel surcharge

VICTORIA – BC Ferries has added two more sailings on its busiest routes through to Labour Day.

Extra sailings will be provided from both Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay at 8 pm and 10 pm on Fridays and Sundays. As well, extra sailings are scheduled on the Horseshoe Bay – Departure Bay route on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Meanwhile, effective August 17, the comapny is adjusting the fuel rebate on all of its minor routes from 5 percent to 2 percent on average.

BC Ferries is reducing the fuel rebate due to higher fuel prices.

The fuel rebate on the three Lower Mainland routes remains unchanged at 2 percent on average, however.
