BC Ferries now requires ID on some routes
VICTORIA — Starting tomorrow, Fri. June 15, 2007, B.C. Ferries will require all passengers to show photo I.D. when traveling between Port Hardy, Prince Rupert, and the Queen Charlotte Islands and Port Hardy and the central coast.
Travelers will have to produce the I.D. when they check-in at terminals and when they board the vessel.
The new security procedure is expected to be adopted on all B.C. Ferries routes in the near future.
A drivers’ licence or passport is an acceptable form of I.D. See B.C. ferries’ website for all types of accepted I.D.
