Bendix takes its message to Canada

HALIFAX — Representatives from Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems are heading north of the border to educate commercial vehicle manufacturers and partners about the benefits of advanced vehicle safety technologies and the perils of supplying counterfeit parts.

The presentation will be part of the Canadian Transport Equipment Association’s (CTEA) annual conference, beginning on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the Marriott Hotel Halifax Harbour in Halifax.

The event brings together commercial vehicle manufacturers, their dealers, distributors, component manufacturers and service providers in the Canadian marketplace.

Bendix will address various issues, including:

Trailer Stability Technical Session: the company will discuss the availability of full electronic stability control (ESC/ESP) for tractors, trucks, bus and trailers — and its impact on overall highway safety.

Imposters, Counterfeiters: The next day, Andrew Cifranic, brand manager, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, will speak about the impact of knock-off and non-genuine parts on vehicle brake performance, overall highway safety, brand equity, and lost revenue for legitimate component manufacturers.

“It’s important to have forums such as CTEA to conduct an ongoing dialogue about topics that impact the industry, such as brake technology and the ever-increasing flow of counterfeit and knock-off parts,” said Rob Greer, regional director of Canadian aftermarket sales. “Increased awareness and ongoing education about these and other vital issues will continue to help to shape the future direction of our industry.”
