Bendix taps VP of engineering, R&D

ELYRIA, Ohio – Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems has named Richard Beyer to the new position of vice president, engineering, research and development.

Beyer was previously Bendix’s director of technical sales. In his new role he will focus on strengthening the company’s research and development network and shaping product development strategy through customer dialogue.

“The creation of this new role will enhance our global research and development coordination, and help us better deliver value and effective solutions to the commercial vehicle market,” said Joe McAleese, Bendix president and CEO.

"Richard’s extensive engineering knowledge and industry experience have provided him a valuable perspective on global technology that will help us further align our priorities and apply the right resources to meet our engineering and R&D objectives to deliver results.”

As director of technical sales, Beyer worked with the original equipment and technical sales force team, the controls group, and Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake to drive a cohesive strategy to customers.
