Big Freight expands glass-hauling operation
STEINBACH, Man. (March 15, 2002) — Big Freight Systems will continue expanding its glass-hauling operation with the signing of a multi-year contract with Pilkington North America. The Steinbach, Man. fleet will provide exclusive transportation services to Pilkington on all specialized glass transportation from Laurinburg, N.C. to Canada and from Ottawa, Ill. to western Canada. Big Freight president Gary Coleman says he’ll be adding both equipment and personnel.
Pilkington, based in Toledo, Oh., is a leading producer of float glass for architectural, residential, furniture, mirror and specialty applications as well as automotive glass.
Big Freight is an open-deck specialist and has carved out a niche in the glass world since entering that very specialist market in 1985.
