Blue Water extends FAST enrollment hours
SARNIA, Ont. — Thanks to lobbying efforts by the Ontario Trucking Association, FAST processing hours at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron will be extended on Fridays until 4 p.m., starting this weekend.
As a result, FAST booth processing on Sundays will not commence until 8 p.m. OTA reports that the change is an attempt to improve delays at the bridge. The new FAST processing hours at Port Huron for U.S. bound trucks are from 8 pm on Sunday through to 4 pm on Friday. There will be leniency for trucks that arrive prior to 8 pm on Sunday to aid in the transition of the change to FAST processing hours of operation, notes OTA.
The trucking group also reminds truckers that the OPP along Hwy. 402 will be strictly enforcing correct FAST lane usage en route to the Blue Water Bridge. Violators will be issued fines of up to $1000.00.
For months, OTA has been lobbying for improvements to delays and driver treatment at Port Huron.
