Brake Stroke Indicator
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems’ SureStroke Indicator is a visual gauge that measures brake-stroke travel and lets you check brake adjustment quickly. It consists of a metal bracket that bolts onto the brake chamber; a pre-measured reference unit that attaches to the bracket; a replacement clevis pin; two yellow pin-covers that establish the acceptable limits for stroke length; a red clevis pin pointer that’s attached to the slack adjuster; and various hardware. The company says it reduces brake-check time from 20 minutes to less than five. The product is available in two universal formats-one for power units, trucks, and buses, and one for trailers.
