Bridgestone increases tire prices
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS) is the latest tire maker to hike up the price of its rubber.
The company says the price of its tread rubber products to its franchised dealers is up to 6 percent in North America. BBTS previously increased prices in the U.S. 5 percent in May.
"The market in 2008 continues to provide us with many challenges that are outside our control, including rising raw material costs and the effects of volatile energy prices on transportation," said Saul Solomon, president of BBTS.
