Calyx blooms new president
TORONTO — Calyx Transportation Group announce the appointment of Douglas Harrison to the position of president.
Calyx — the holding parent for such carriers as Muir’s Cartage, National Fast Freight, Nesel Transport, and Euroworld Transport System — says Harrison was previously CEO of BLJC, a provider of outsource facility maintenance services.
Prior to that he was president of Acklands-Grainger, Canada’s largest industrial supply company, and previously he was VP and managing director for Ryder Integrated Logistics where he had responsibility for Ryder’s Canadian and European logistics organizations.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of The Conference Board of Canada and was formerly Chair of the Board of Livingston International Income Fund.
Mr. Harrison has been recognized with a National Transportation Award of Achievement, was chosen as a recipient of the Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation’s Award of Excellence and was also chosen as one of Canada’s Top 40 leaders under the age of 40.
