Canada’s best truckers set to square off in New Brunswick

MONCTON, N.B. — Canada’s best wheelmen are heading to Moncton this weekend for a truck-to-truck showdown.

Thirty-nine drivers will compete in six different classes at the 2005 National Professional Truck Driving Championships. The event is held annually to determine the top drivers from across Canada. Participants are made up of provincial champions from across Canada who took first place in their regional competition.

Other than the Grand Champion, awards include the Team Award, and the Rookie of the Year Award.

The event, hosted this year by the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association, will kick off Saturday Sept. 24 at the Moncton Coliseum Complex Parking Lot, 377 Killam Drive. Admission is free.
