Canada’s top Volvo dealer takes the cake

WATERLOO, Ont. — Cake, burgers, balloons and a hearty congratulations from head office.

That’s what was in store for the staff, customers and visitors of Expressway Trucks of Waterloo, Ont., Friday, when, Ron Huibers, senior vice president, sales & marketing presented Expressway Dealer Principal Ron Lawson with the Volvo Trucks’ Canada Dealer of the Year for 2010.

Citing outstanding sales (Expressway claims 57.2% of the local long-haul new truck market) Huibers said Expressway’s achievement means “there’s no question that General Truck Sales and Expressway Trucks have done an outstanding job in achieving excellence while representing the values of the Volvo brand.”

The dealership, which also has a branch in Windsor, sold 412 trucks last year and experienced a 117.9-percent increase in parts sales over the previous year.
