Canadian and U.S. manufacturers talk about border
MONTREAL, Que. Sept. 24, 2001 — A working group on Canada-U.S. border issues was jointly launched today The Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters and its U.S. counterpart, the National Association of Manufacturers.
The group will look at ways to ensure safety, security, and stabilize the North American economy for Canadians and Americans.
The representatives of Canadian and American businesses, which make up the group, will also consider making recommendations to U.S. and Canadian officials on easing transborder commercial shipments while strengthening national security.
Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters members account for 75% of Canada’s industrial output and 90% of its exports.
