Canadian Freight Index Holds Steady in November

TORONTO — Transcore’s Canadian Freight Index held steady in November marking no change from October 2011 levels.

Year-over-year load volumes increased 17 percent, Transcore reported, a healthy jump in a month when spot freight typically declines. It was the second best November on record, just behind November 2005 levels.

Equipment postings in November climbed 5 percent over October’s number, but were the lowest for any November since 2005.

Capacity was 8 percent below November 2010 levels, and there was no change in equipment-to-loads from the volumes reached in October.
