Canadians recognized at International dealer contest
WARRENVILLE, Ill., (Feb. 20, 2004) — International Truck and Engine has announced the winners — including two Canadian dealers — of its first annual International Walk-Around Competition.
Reg Graboski of Winnipeg-based Maxim Transportation Service, and Bob Frew of Carrier Truck Centre in Brantford, Ont. were the two Canadian dealers recognized by the truck maker.
The four-round contest was developed to motivate International dealer sales and lease professionals to thoroughly learn and understand the features, advantages, benefits, and value of International 4000, 7000, and 8000 Series vehicles. Competitors were asked to prepare and complete a product walk-around lasting 15-25 minutes. Each was provided with a fictitious case and customer type and randomly assigned to complete their walk-around on either the vehicle. Judges determined which contestants advanced to the following round based on their demonstrated knowledge and presentation skills.
More than six hundred individuals entered the competition with hopes of winning the grand-prize, a Harley Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle — which went to Doug Varner of San Diego, Calif.-based Dion International.
