Cancom cuts OmniTRACS prices

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. (Nov. 19, 2001) — Cancom Tracking cut prices of Qualcomm Inc.’s OmniTRACS mobile communications system hardware by up to 30%.

Cancom said the reduction was for a limited time and is intended “to help trucking companies address the security and economic challenges the industry is facing today.”

The OmniTracs system, introduced by Qualcomm in 1988, provides two-way data messaging, automatic satellite vehicle tracking, and complete integration capabilities to dispatch and back-office systems.
