Cancom donates to Road Knights

TORONTO — Cancom Tracking has provided the Ontario Trucking Association’s Road Knights program with an OmniTRACS keyboard for truck cabs.

Road Knight Rob Bedard attempts to
lure high-school students to trucking

The keyboard is part of the communication equipment used on commercial vehicles to facilitate real-time satellite based vehicle tracking, driver communications and many other features.

Members of the Road Knights team will show the keyboard at career fairs and high schools when they talk to students about the numerous career opportunities available in today’s trucking industry.

The purpose of the OTA Road Knights program is to enhance awareness of the trucking industry including safe road sharing with commercial trucks, the economic importance of the industry and careers in the trucking industry. Team members step out of the truck cab several times each month to make presentations and meet with the public.
