Cancom to re-sell XATA onboard computers in Canada

MINNEAPOLIS (Feb. 24, 2000) — Onboard computer maker XATA Corp. announced yesterday that it has granted Canadian Satellite Communications (Cancom) distribution rights to re-sell XATA hardware and software in Canada.

“Expanding our sales and marketing efforts outside of the United States is one of XATA’s long-term objectives,” said Joel Jorgenson, XATA’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “Forming a strong relationship with an experienced reseller such as Cancom, which has more than 19 years of proven performance in the industry selling satellite communication systems in Canada, will help us reach this goal.”

XATAÕs “Onboard” truck computer combines onboard computing, real-time communications, global positioning and fleet management software.

Cancom Tracking Solutions, based in Mississauga, Ont., has distributed Qualcomm Inc.’s OmniTRACS satellite-based communications products in Canada since 1990.
