Cat C10 available for Peterbilt 320

DENTON, Texas (July 9, 2001) — Peterbilt’s Model 320 low-cab-forward vehicle is now available with the higher-horsepower Caterpillar C10 engine, Peterbilt Motors Co. announced.

“The availability of the Cat C10 engine for Peterbilt’s Model 320 gives customers in high gross vehicle weight applications the power they need to haul larger payloads more efficiently,” said Peterbilt assistant general manager Dan Sobic.

The C10 engine — available at 305-, 335- and 350-horsepower ratings — joins the Caterpillar 3126B and Cummins ISC and ISM as an engine option for the Model 320. It can be converted to dual fuel use in the aftermarket, making it ideal for areas that require or offer incentives for using natural gas/diesel fuel engines to lower emissions.

Peterbilt’s Model 320 is custom manufactured for refuse (front loader, rear loader, side loader, roll off, recycler and vacuum pump), concrete pumper, tanker, and fire apparatus applications.
