Cat names new director of on-highway engines

PEORIA, Ill. — George Taylor has been appointed director of Caterpillar Power Systems North America. Formerly the marketing manager for the Caterpillar Asia Pacific Marketing Division in Singapore, Taylor replaces Jim McReynolds, who now will lead the Caterpillar Global Paving Division.

“George Taylor has the strategic planning experience to enable us to continue our engine strategy of delivering customer value while meeting ever-tightening emissions requirements,” said James J. Parker, vice president of Caterpillar Inc., Power Systems marketing division. ”

In his new position, Taylor has primary responsibility for all aspects of the on-highway engine business in Canada and the U.S., including line haul, over-the-road and vocational trucks, and buses and RVs. He also will lead field service operations and parts marketing for all of the Power Systems business sectors, including electric power, marine, petroleum and industrial engines.

Taylor joined the company in 1998 as manager of strategic planning.
