Cavalier celebrates 25 Years in trucking

BOLTON, Ont. (Aug. 25, 2004) — Cavalier Transportation is celebrating its 25th anniversary this month.

Cavalier President and current Ontario Trucking Association chairman George Ledson began as a pioneer in third party logistics prior to deregulation.

In 1983 Georbon Transportation, a for-hire motor carrier was formed as a sister company to Cavalier, operating as a fleet of straight trucks and tractor trailers providing local cartage and regional services Southern Ontario.

Two years later, Cavalier Transportation became a fully licensed motor carrier in its own right. The company — with 70 trucks and 200 trailers — has since carved a niche offering mainly LTL services in the busy Ontario-Quebec and Northeast U.S. lanes.
