CBP offers e-manifest trouble report
WASHINGTON — U.S. Customs has made available a report that lists and identifies current outstanding electronic manifest issues along with their status.
Simply go to http://www.cbp.gov/linkhandler/cgov/toolbox/about/modernization/carrier_info/ptr_elec_truck_manifest.ctt ptr_elec_truck_manifest.xls (or click on the link at the bottom of the story) for an idea of various problems CBP is working on.
There are over 100 issues authorities are trying to clarify or fix. A few examples: One problem describes that former FAST drivers or “deactivated” drivers cannot be added to Carrier Accounts. “We will need to develop a method to allow a driver that has lost his FAST credentials to be added to a carrier account and not be allowed to see the FAST data,” CBP notes in the report, adding that the issue is awaiting “Technical Investigation.”
Other issues deal with cancelled shipments; name and info changes to carriers and importers; CTPAT and PAPS entries; changes and edits to pre-filed manifests and dozens more.
Many of the problems are currently being assessed by the technical teams to determine the nature and the level of effort and time needed to address the issue.
