CBP pre-note seminars announced

WINDSOR, Ont. (May 13, 2004) — Still not sure how to deal with U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s pre-notification rules?

CBP is offering at the Ports of Entry for Detroit, Port Huron and Sault Ste. Marie Michigan, meetings to inform carriers about the implementation of the Trade Act’s requirement of advanced presentation of cargo information.

The Ontario Trucking Association is strongly recommending the carriers moving freight into the U.S. attend these meetings as valuable information related to the clearance programs available to carriers.

The following dates and locations for meetings taking place along the Ontario-Michigan border:

Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., Monday, May 17, 2004 (9:00 am – noon); U.S. Plaza, International Bridge; Customs and Border Protection Building; North Conference Room. Questions or concerns should contact CBP Supervisor Scott Menger at 906-632-7221.
