Centreport Canada: Where ship happens

WINNIPEG — Equipment rental pros Trailer Wizards and the fire-truck OEM Fort Garry Fire Trucks have seen the future of Canadian shipping, and it is in the ‘Peg.

The two companies are the charter residents of a brand-new industrial park within CentrePort Canada, a 20,000 acre freight-friendly project near the Winnipeg Airport.

Trailer Wizards acquired 19 acres and Fort Garry 8.1 acres of the new Brookside Industrial Park West, a 52-acre plot located in the northeast section of CentrePort. The facilities will have convenient access to Inkster Boulevard and the new expressway, CentrePort Canada Way

Trailer Wizards provides coast-to-coast trucking rentals and is expanding its Winnipeg operations. Fort Garry Fire Trucks (FGFT) builds fire trucks, custom-built pumpers, aerial ladders, water delivery tankers and other fire-fighting equipment.

Proponents of CentrePort say it is the first logistics hub in the country to offer investors single-window access to Foreign Trade Zone benefits.

CentrePort Canada connects to major national and international trade gateways and corridors and is the only inland port in Canada to offer direct access to tri-modal transportation options (road, rail and air).

“The development of CentrePort Canada is causing investors to sit up and take notice and we are extremely pleased to announce these new operations at Brookside,” said Martin McGarry, president of realtors DTZ Barnicke Winnipeg, who oversaw the deal. “Interest in purchasing land has never been higher and we anticipate that it won’t be long before we move into the next phase of development at the site.”
