MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Dec. 20, 2001) — Canadian National Railway has opened an intermodal freight distribution centre in Memphis, Tenn., off of Interstate 55 near Florida Street.
The 60,000-square-foot facility is equipped to handle rail-to-truck transfers of products like paper, plastics, lumber and metal. It features a 20-car lumber and metals transfer area, complemented by seven acres of outdoor storage as well as a 48-car plastics transfer area.
The Memphis distribution center is the second such facility opened by CN this year, following a metals distribution centre in Hamilton, Ont., last July.
