CN joins C-TPAT border security program
MONTREAL (Oct. 25, 2002) — Canadian National said it has been accepted into the U.S. Customs Service’s Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, or C-TPAT.
C-TPAT, announced last summer, is a security initiative designed to speed up border crossings for pre-screened cargo and freight carriers. Participants agree to a series of conditions to demonstrate a low security risk.
CN is the first North American railroad accepted to the program.
