Collenette, Clark headline PMTC conference Sept. 27

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. (August 13, 2001) — Federal Transport Minister David Collenette and Ontario Minister of Transportation Brad Clark are the featured speakers at the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada annual conference, which takes place Sept. 27 at the Toronto Airport Hilton hotel.

Clark will open the conference with a ‘Meet the Minister Breakfast’ and Collenette will address attendees during the annual PMTC awards luncheon.

Two seminar sessions will deal with labour issues. ‘Labour Law vs Labour Relations’ features Christopher Andree, LL.B., of the firm Crawford, Chondon & Andree, who will address how to balance legal compliance with good labour relations.

A second seminar, Road Rage: Protecting Your Drivers, will be presented by Mark Diacur, a professional trainer. He will discuss how you can help your drivers stay out of situations that could prove life-threatening.

The annual PMTC luncheon includes the PMTC-Zurich Canada Private Fleet Safety Awards; the PMTC-3M Canada vehicle graphics design awards; and the PMTC’s Driver of the Year and Executive of the Year awards.
