Compact Gen Set

An ultra-compact on-board generator set from Truck Gen offers 3.5-kilowatt capacity in a unit that’s just 19 inches wide, 16 inches high, and 29 inches long. Including its aluminum box, the unit weighs only 230 pounds. Designed for any application where space is at a premium, the UCT1-3.5 was first conceived as a solution for car haulers who have wanted an auxiliary power supply for running hydraulic lift pumps without idling the truck’s engine. It will also run electrically driven heaters and air conditioners and other appliances, of course. In that application it’s intended to mount lengthwise in the truck’s frame, but other boxes can be fabricated for other applications and other placement (see the photo for a battery-box option).

This is a stand-alone unit with its own radiator, meaning it’s not tied to the truck’s cooling system. The Kubota diesel engine burns as little as 1/10th of a gallon of fuel per hour. A patented Goodyear drive belt minimizes noise and vibration. A 5.5-kW version is also available.
