Conference to explore energy efficiency

OTTAWA (Dec. 31, 2001) — Natural Resources Canada and the U.S. Dept. of Energy have scheduled a conference May 13-15 to explore trends and policies on energy efficiency in transportation.

The three-day event, called the Windsor Workshop 2002, will cover transportation-related energy and emissions policies, specifically alternative fuel technologies. A similar event was held earlier this year.

The FleetSmart office of Natural Resources Canada will present a full-day workshop for commercial fleet managers on May 14, offering ideas to improve fuel efficiency and develop an energy management plan, said Lynda Harvey, a manager with the FleetSmart program.
